Visa basics

Most nationalities — including US, UK, EU, Gulf and CIS citizens — can get an e-visa at evisa.gov.tr in under 5 minutes for $50. The e-visa allows a 30-day stay, enough for nearly all procedures.

Visa letters

For stays beyond 30 days (some oncology and orthopedics protocols), clinics issue an official invitation letter for a longer-term medical visa. Request it when booking.

What to pack

• Medical records & imaging (CD/USB)
• Loose clothing (post-surgery)
• Compression socks for the flight
• Copies of your passport & visa
• Medication list with generic names

Currency & costs

Istanbul is a cash-light city; cards are accepted everywhere. Budget $50–100/day for food and transport beyond your package.
