Cancellation Policy

Quick Summary: Istanbul Medical Tourism never takes a payment from patients, so there is nothing for us to refund. Sending and cancelling a request is always free. Anything you later agree to pay your doctor is between you and them, under the terms they give you before you commit.
1. Cancelling a request
What happens depends on how far along your request is:
Before an doctor accepts
Free
Cancel instantly from My Requests. Nothing has been agreed and nothing is owed.
After an doctor accepts
Free from us
Still costs you nothing here — just tell your doctor as early as you can so they can release the dates.
After you agree terms with the doctor
Their terms apply
If you have paid them a deposit, their own cancellation policy decides what happens to it.
2. Deposits paid to an doctor
Some doctors ask for a deposit to hold dates or to cover planning time. That money goes straight to them — it never passes through Istanbul Medical Tourism, and we cannot return it. Ask for their cancellation terms in writing before you send any money, and keep the receipt.
3. Doctor-Specific Policies
Every doctor sets their own cancellation terms. Because the agreement is directly with them, those terms are the ones that govern your trip. Ask for them before you commit to anything.
4. When things go wrong
We cannot move money, but we do act on the doctor. Tell us if any of this happens:
- The doctor cancels on you or stops responding
- What you received was materially different from what was agreed
- They refuse to honour the cancellation terms they gave you
- They ask for money in a way you did not agree to
5. How to cancel
To cancel a request:

- 2Find the request you want to cancel
- 3Cancel it there, and message your doctor to let them know
- 4Or email us with your request number and we will pass it on
6. What we can and cannot do
We can cancel your request, contact the doctor on your behalf, mediate a dispute, and suspend or remove an doctor who behaves badly. We cannot issue a refund, because we never held your money in the first place.
